
The nearby Gulf Coast beaches are breathtaking and unspoiled as they are free from high-rise development. There are miles of soft white sand perfect for lazing in the sun, building sandcastles at the water's edge or going for a stroll.
Englewood Beach has light-colored sand and tufts of sea oats growing along the dune line. There are public toilets, freshwater showers, a playground, sheltered picnic and barbeque areas and parking.

Close by, but more secluded, is Stump Pass Beach - a great place to watch the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico. A favorite pastime is gathering shells and searching for shark's teeth along the surf.
Port Charlotte Beach Complex is a man-made beach with excellent facilities which include a shady playground, basketball courts, tennis courts, fishing pier, swimming pool, bocci, horseshoe pits, snack bar and boat ramps.
Other beaches nearby include Blind Pass Beach, Manasota Beach, Gasparilla State Recreation Area, Don Pedro State Park and Boca Grande.
