There are great opportunities for fishing and boating in the Gulf of Mexico and Charlotte Harbor estuaries. In fact, you won't find many better places to enjoy fishing in Florida. In Charlotte Harbor you can fish for snook, trout, redfish and tarpon while enjoying the miles of beautiful shoreline. You can pass by mangroves and spot pelicans and herons flying by overhead. If you're lucky, you may spot a manatee or an osprey , perhaps even the elusive sea-cow as captured in this rare photo. All these animals and more make their home in and around the unspoiled waters.
If you prefer deep-sea fishing, you are in right place! You can fish for grouper and snapper year round. Other fish such as kingfish, cobia, black-fin tuna, Greater amberjack, Spanish mackerel, dolphin (mahi-mahi), shark, barracuda, tarpon, permit, little tunny, sheepshead, flounder, snook, redfish, and sea trout come and go in the water seasonally.
